Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Staying sexually pure in this wicked world is a slog. Sometimes I wonder if the public immodesty will ever vanish, if the sexuality in popular culture will ever end, if the internal temptations will ever disappear. And then I remember, of course they will.
A glorious day is coming when Jesus Christ will return and take His own to glory. First to rise from the dead will be those who died in Christ. Then will follow those who are alive at Christ’s coming. We will join Christ, and reign with Him over a new creation.
Take heart, brother. “Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58). Your striving against sexual sin is not in vain. Your actions to avoid pornography are not pointless. Your obedience to the Lord in striving to live a sexually pure life is not useless. A day is coming when the nakedness will be gone, the pornographers will be in the lake of fire, and your days of struggling against the flesh will be over.
One day, perhaps soon, your battle will be won. You will have victory because you will be with the Victor. You will be with Christ. Your struggle against porn will not have been in vain in the Lord. The key is to make sure you are indeed born again, and that you never quit abounding in the work of the Lord. You can do it.
